Wedding Stories

Pondvalley Manor is “Where memories are made”.

Truly magical things happen here at Pondvalley Manor!

DANCE RECITAL FOR THE BRIDE

A dance instructor bride's little dance students surprised her when they all got off a school bus with their flowy lavender costumes blowing in the summer breeze.  They then performed a beautifully choreographed dance to honour the bride on her special day… it was magical!

ELVIS' CONVERTIBLE

There was Elvis’ Convertible parked by the pond for the couple's fantastic photos.  We’ve had bagpipes and grooms in kilts, a hay wagon arriving with the wedding party, a beautiful harp and harpist by the pond, trios, single musicians, bands, fire works, and so much more!

SNOWBIRD FLY-BY

One of the most incredible wedding moments was when the St. Thomas International Air Show was on.  Right after the couple had said their vows the Snowbirds flew right behind the pond in formation with the last plane dipping its wing in salute.

WOW...who has an impromptu Snowbirds fly-by at their wedding?!!

REMEMBERING A CHERISHED HERO

We had an antique fire truck on the grounds, the groom dressed in his late father’s firefighter dress uniform.  They cut their cake decorated like a birch log with a tiny firefighter axe, and everyone piled on the fire truck for fantastic photos.

TRIBUTE TO AN ICON

A JAMES BOND ENTRY

One of the most memorable entries was when a helicopter circled the pond a few times to the surprise of the congregation, then landed up on the grounds while the James Bond theme song was blasting.  The groom and his best man got out with their tuxes and casually pulled off their sunglasses…it was classic!

There are so many ways you can make your wedding tell the story of your love. We believe marriage is about making memories together, and we want to be a part of creating yours.

TRUE COUNTRY WEDDING

One couple embraced the coutnry setting with haybale chairs. There was also the all-out Country wedding, with bridesmaids in short flowy dresses and cowboy boots.  They had two huge John Deere tractors on the lawn, and everyone piled on for photos!

HONOURING CULTURE

A HOOKAH BAR WEDDING

One groom and his family came all the way from Egypt!  The groom was studying at Western and met his lovely bride, and wanted to bring a little bit of his culture to the event.  They hired a hookah bar owner to set up in our smoking section… it was wonderful to see all the amazing shapes and sizes of these traditional pipes!  Later there was a traditional Belly Dance performance.
